Montreal, Can, (Notifax).- Por sexta vez en su carrera, en una prueba que dominó de principio a fin en la que se impuso por delante de su compañero finlandés Valtteri Bottas y del australiano Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), el piloto británico Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) ganó el Gran Premio de Canadá.
Hamilton tuvo un inicio accidentado, con el español Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) y el brasileño Felipe Massa (Williams) fuera de la prueba en la primera vuelta; y en la que el holandés Max Verstappen (Red Bull) abandonó en la undécima por un problema de motor.
El alemán Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), logró el cuarto lugar en un adelantamiento en la última vuelta al mexicano Sergio Pérez (Force India), quinto, seguido por su compañero francés Esteban Ocon, el finlandés Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), el alemán Nico Hülkenberg (Renault), el canadiense Lance Stroll (Williams) y el francés Romain Grosjean (Haas).
Cabe señalar que con los 25 puntos sumados por Hamilton y los 12 que obtiene Vettel gracias a su cuarto puesto final, el piloto de Ferrari retiene el primer lugar del Mundial de pilotos con 141 puntos, seguido por el británico.
